Water purification system implementation in Satipo Perú
Satipo region, in the VRAEM valleys, is a beautiful area but one that presents challenges in terms of infrastructure and sanitation for its inhabitants. Some 200 families live there who finance their livelihoods by growing criollo cacao, considered by experts as one of the most aromatic and delicious varieties. Life there is very simple. There are some unpaved driveways and there is no sewer system. Until recently, the water supply was only the river, and of course, this water was not of good quality, which presented a risk to the general population since the river is polluted and it takes one-hour walk to reach it.
This is why Healthy Superfoods, in collaboration with international cooperation and our customers, has managed to implement a water purification system in the community. Now the villagers can not only cook and wash themselves with clean water but can also irrigate their fields at night, which allows the cacao trees to have better growing conditions. This allows them to raise their level and quality of life, which also has a positive effect on health.

The community as a whole participated in this project, which allowed them to strengthen their sense of community and cohesion.
